Hazardous Mud
- Please note that at current low water levels there are now exposed large areas of deep and slippery mud
- Risks of entrapment leading to possible hypothermia exist in many places
- All visitors are required to stay on the tracks. Dogs must not be allowed to stray onto the mud or into the water
- Water users must only go afloat at approved points and are not allowed to disembark at any other point
- There are numerous mud banks – in the event of running aground do not attempt to leave your vessel – telephone for assistance
- It will not be possible to pick people up by boat from some shores
- Please look out for other people who may be in difficulty
- Carry a phone at all times and record the Bewl Water assistance numbers
Slipways
- The concrete slipways have now ended due to low water levels
- The fishing jetty will be dismantled and moved to the end of the slipway currently occupied by the grey rowing jetty
- The grey rowing jetty will be relocated (position tbc)
- The aluminium trackway has been rolled out on the Boat House slipway – suitable for trailers not vehicles
- Note the width of the track from the visible part – the length is 12 metres
- Do not allow trailers to go off the end of the track
